Gail Yearbury
Manager Gail grew up in rural Southland and spent many years looking after the farm and raising her children. Hospitality is now a key part of her life and she loves talking with local people and making them feel welcome.

Assistant Manager Brittany has been a key member of the Pioneer Tavern for many years and is looking forward to her new role as Assistant Manager. She is proud to be part of the Mataura Licensing Trust.

Recently renovated, the Pioneer Tavern features: bistro meals, a garden bar, a lounge bar for private meetings and functions, regular entertainment, a hometown liquormart bottlestore, SKY TV on an extra large screen, full TAB facilities, gaming machines, a pool table and dart board, and a local courtesy coach.
There are also 6 new motel units available. Our apartment-style single, double and twin ground-floor units all have full kitchen facilities and comfy beds. Quiet and spacious, they all have ample parking at the door, broadband, TV and access to a free guest laundry. They are all serviced daily. We have one wheelchair accessible unit and family or long-term rates are available. Continental breakfast and bistro meals are also available. |
